  KT Taping

Kinesiology taping is one of my favorite "take-home" therapies that I offer for my clients. By combining KT taping with massage, my clients continue to get the benefits from the work we did in our session. KT tape is different from the McConnell tape, also referred to as "white tape", as it is flexible and moves with the client instead of the rigid material. With this flexibility, the KT tape acts as a reminder to the body that it should be moving with a certain intent, as well as not moving in a certain direction. It gently guides the muscles back into the anatomically correct movements, without restricting movement or flexibility. As seen in the video, there are different percentages of stretch applied to the tape to aid in the variety of techniques. This is due to the recoil affect of the tape, where the recoil helps to guide the muscle into either an increase in tone (engaging the muscle) or decrease in tone (relaxing the muscle).
