About Me

Welcome to my page! There is so much I'd love to share with you about my educational journey, so buckle up! I have been a licensed and NCBTMB board certified massage therapist since December 2011. I am currently still working as a licensed massage therapist, specializing in athletes and rehabilitation. I have worked in spas, chiropractic offices, and currently own my own business, Hands of a Barbarian. I am also currently in school to complete my undergraduate degree in Exercise Science, with the intent to apply to the graduate program for physical therapy afterwards.

Outside of school, I am a wife and mom of four kids. In my free time, I enjoy playing Dungeons and Dragons with my friends, cross stitching bookmarks, reading any book I can get my hands on, and stalking birds to take their picture (also known as birdography). I know the importance of having a good home/work/school life balance, so it is important for me to be able to express myself individually as well as collectively.

I am always looking to expand my horizons personally and professionally. My most recent challenge has been working towards rock climbing the 40 foot wall. While I have been absolutely terrified of heights since I can remember, I want to push my boundaries and work towards overcoming these fears. Professionally, I have been working with other therapists to expand my repertoire of available techniques in preparation for future jobs in the medical field.
