Career Goals

After finishing my bachelors, I currently plan on applying to local high schools (two in the closest vicinity to me) to begin the process of either the Transition to Teaching OR the ISEAL. I would love to work in either a mild intervention classroom for students with special needs, a mathematics classroom teaching Algebra or Precalculus, or a science classroom teaching anatomy or physiology. Each of these subjects interests me in a different manner, and I do not necessarily place one above the other. This path would afford me with the same schedule as my kids, as well as being more available in the evenings and weekends to attend sporting events and just spending time in general. The draw of this path is the consistent daily schedule that is mostly predictable with intermittent breaks. However, if teaching jobs in the areas I would feel comfortable teaching are not available, I have the option to continue down my current career path of massage therapy. I already work with a number of professional teams and have been offered the opportunity to work with teams as a whole (instead of individual players on a less frequent basis) with the condition that they are still available if I choose to accept in the future. The draw of this path would be to continue with what I know and excel at. While the schedule for this one may not be ideal, there is also a large break period in between seasons that would afford me the time I seek for my family.
